Ligna 2025
Bielefeld, June 4, 2025 – At Ligna 2025 in Hanover, Hymmen welcomed visitors to explore the latest industry trends and field-proven technologies designed to elevate production efficiency to new heights. "We are pleased with the quality of the contacts we made at Ligna and are optimistic that these will spark new project opportunities," said Dr. René Pankoke, Managing Partner and CEO of Hymmen, reflecting on a successful trade fair week.
Striking highlights such as premium digitally printed and textured flooring, a kitchenette showcasing multiple Hymmen technologies, and dynamic video demonstrations of systems in real-world operation drew strong interest to the booth - particularly from professionals in the furniture, flooring, and wood-based materials industries. Visitors were especially drawn to Hymmen’s digital printing technologies (JUPITER and DLEplus) for surface decors and textures, advanced laminating systems, and liquid coating solutions - including the Calender Coating Inert (CCI) process for achieving high-gloss and ultra-matte finishes. In the engineered wood segment, discussions centered around surface finishing and edge sealing for shuttering panels, gluing and phenolic resin applications, and the production of veneer wood panels. Handling and automation solutions for complex processes such as veneer laying also captured significant attention.
"We were able to demonstrate to our visitors that we remain the trusted experts in machine and plant engineering - while continuously thinking one step ahead when it comes to process innovation," emphasized Dr. Pankoke. A key highlight in this regard was Hymmen’s Industry Intelligence solutions, which made a substantial contribution to the company’s forward-thinking image.
By leveraging digital twin technology, Hymmen brought its production systems virtually to the trade fair booth. Visitors could observe live production processes on a large screen or immerse themselves directly in the production environment using augmented reality (AR) glasses.
Hymmen also uses the digital twin effectively for system commissioning—delivering a significant boost to project excellence and implementation efficiency.
Hymmen’s Industry Intelligence solution, smart2i, offers a comprehensive approach to optimizing the efficiency of the entire production process. A key advantage: smart2i is compatible with all interconnected production environments - across different industries and even with systems from other manufacturers. At the trade fair booth, interactive dashboards demonstrated how relevant production data is visualized in clear, intuitive diagrams. Visitors could see firsthand how intelligently analyzed KPIs reveal untapped potential for improvement - live and in real time.
Ligna once again proved itself as a vital global platform for the exchange of expertise in wood-based materials production technologies - evident in the international makeup of the audience: Hymmen welcomed customers from over 21 countries to its booth.
